cross-examine is a Claude Code skill that relentlessly interviews the user about every aspect of a plan or design until a shared understanding is reached. It walks down each branch of the decision tree, resolving dependencies between decisions one by one — and when a question can be answered by exploring the codebase, it does that instead of asking. For each question, Claude also provides its own recommended answer. The skill is ideal for stress-testing a plan, pressure-checking an architectural design, or any time someone wants to get thoroughly grilled on their idea before moving forward.
