deepxiv is a Claude Code skill that searches and progressively reads open-access academic papers through the DeepXiv SDK. It offers layered access to individual papers: a quick brief (`-brief`), a section map (`-head`), and targeted section retrieval (`-section: NAME`), avoiding full-paper loads until they are actually needed. The skill returns up to 10 results by default, supports trending paper discovery over 7-, 14-, or 30-day windows, DeepXiv web search, and Semantic Scholar metadata lookup by ID. Installation requires `pip install deepxiv-sdk`; on first run the tool auto-registers a free token stored in `~/.env`. It is designed for researchers and developers who need efficient, depth-controlled access to arXiv literature without pulling entire PDFs upfront.
