lit-review is a Claude Code skill that conducts a structured literature search and synthesis on any given topic, clustering sources thematically and identifying gaps in the field. It retrieves papers via WebSearch and WebFetch, checks local project files including existing .bib files and the master_supporting_docs/supporting_papers/ directory, then organises findings into four categories: theoretical contributions, empirical findings, methodological innovations, and open debates. The final report is saved as Markdown under quality_reports/ and covers 5–15 key papers with method, key finding, and relevance notes, plus ready-to-use BibTeX entries. A built-in Post-Flight Verification protocol spawns a claim-verifier subagent to catch hallucinated citations — a critical risk in automated literature reviews. Researchers and analysts who need to map an academic field, find papers on a specific question, or surface knowledge gaps before writing will find this skill especially useful.
