pixel-art is a Claude Code skill that converts any image into retro pixel art and optionally animates it into a looping MP4 or GIF. Two scripts are included: `pixel_art.py` produces a pixel-art PNG using Floyd-Steinberg dithering, and `pixel_art_video.py` layers animated effects over the result — 12 scenes in total, including rain, snow, embers, fireflies, lightning, and underwater bubbles. Fourteen presets cover hardware-accurate palettes such as NES (54 colors), Game Boy DMG (4 green shades), PICO-8, C64, Apple II, and Teletext, plus adaptive quantization for arcade and SNES-style looks. Ideal for posters, album covers, avatars, character sprites, and short social-media clips.
