prd-v03-moat-definition is a Claude Code skill that assesses competitor defensibility and defines your own moat strategy during the v0.3 Commercial Model stage of the HORIZON workflow. It consumes CFD-* competitive intelligence entries and BR-* product type entries produced in v0.2 Competitive Landscape, then evaluates each competitor across six moat types — switching costs, network effects, data/IP, brand/trust, scale/cost, and regulatory — rating defensibility from Weak to Impenetrable. Switching costs are broken down into financial, time/effort, data migration, and workflow retraining dimensions to produce a total friction estimate. Output includes CFD-* moat analysis entries with vulnerability signals and BR-* targeting rules that specify where direct competition is viable and where a wedge-segment approach makes more sense.
