problem-statement is a Claude Code skill that produces a user-centered problem statement using an empathy-driven framework structured around who is blocked, what they are trying to do, what barriers stand in the way, why those barriers exist, and how the situation feels emotionally. Built on Jobs-to-be-Done and empathy mapping, it walks through a narrative template — "I am / Trying to / But / Because / Which makes me feel" — and distills everything into a single, concise problem statement ready for a PRD or stakeholder alignment session. It is especially useful when a team keeps jumping to solutions without agreeing on the actual problem, or when vague complaints and feature requests need to be reframed around user outcomes. Input is the user and their struggle; the skill completes in roughly 10–20 minutes.
