Specify is a Claude Code skill that connects Claude to Specify, a collection management platform used by museums, herbaria, and research institutions to track specimens, manage loans, and generate reports. Using the Membrane CLI, the skill lets you discover available actions via natural language queries, run them with structured parameters, and send raw proxy requests to the Specify API when built-in actions don't cover your use case — with authentication and credential refresh handled automatically. This removes the need to manage OAuth flows or API keys manually. It is aimed at researchers and collection managers who want to automate specimen data workflows directly from Claude Code. Network access and a Membrane account are required; the free tier is supported.
