vibe-research is a Claude Code skill that performs deep research and market validation for an app idea, serving as Step 1 of the vibe-coding workflow before any code is written. It guides the user through a structured question sequence tailored to their technical level — vibe-coder, developer, or somewhere in between — asking one question at a time and waiting for answers. Once all questions are confirmed, the skill runs live web research using WebSearch and WebFetch, then writes findings to `docs/research-[AppName].md` covering core concept, target users, competitor landscape, recommended tools, budget and timeline estimates, and a machine-readable Handoff Context block consumed by the next steps (`/vibe-prd` and beyond). It's built for anyone who wants to validate a product idea, map out competitors, and define requirements before committing to a tech stack or MVP scope.
