AnythingLLM is an open-source AI workspace you host yourself — a private ChatGPT alternative for a team. Reach for it when colleagues need a chat with a model that can also talk to your own documents: upload policies, contracts and decks, then ask about them in plain language and get answers that cite the source. Documents live in separate workspaces, so departments do not share one pile, and access is granted per user. It works with both local and cloud models, switchable in settings. A vector store is built in, so no separate database is needed, though an external one can be connected. Install it with Docker or as a desktop app. It is a finished application rather than a library: no code required.
