Dangerzone — очистка опасных документов в безопасный PDF

★ 5.7K

Dangerzone is a tool from the Freedom of the Press Foundation that turns potentially dangerous documents (PDFs, office files, images) into PDFs that are safe to open. Reach for it when a file arrives from an untrusted source and you are wary of opening it: Dangerzone renders the document in an isolated sandbox (a container), "photographs" the pages, and assembles a clean PDF with no active content — macros, scripts, and embedded exploits do not survive. It runs locally on your computer (Windows, macOS, Linux) and sends nothing to the internet. Its focus is neutralizing untrusted documents by rebuilding them into a safe PDF, not antivirus or a viewer: the original file isn't "cleaned" but replaced with a guaranteed-inert copy. It is especially useful for journalists, lawyers, and anyone who regularly opens attachments from strangers.
