Datus is an open-source data-engineering agent for the modern data stack: one agent that connects to your warehouse, catalog, semantic layer, and BI, grounded in an evolvable context engine your team owns. Reach for it when you want to hand data-engineering routine to an agent: author and validate SQL, build semantic models and metrics, and generate pipelines, reports, and dashboards — with every correction settling into context and steadily raising accuracy. It has three role-based entry points: a CLI for engineers, a chat (web, Slack/Feishu, VS Code) for analysts, and an API/MCP for other agents; context is stored in LanceDB/SQLite, and in PostgreSQL for teams. Its focus is an agent that automates work with data on your own stack while accumulating reusable context, not just a text-to-SQL chat or a BI dashboard: the value is its own context engine and wiring the whole data stack together through standard interfaces.
