File Converter is an open-source Windows tool that converts and compresses files straight from the Explorer context menu. Reach for it for frequent small chores: transcode a video, compress photos, turn a document into a PDF, extract audio from a clip — right-click the file, no separate program to open. Proven engines ffmpeg, ImageMagick and Ghostscript sit underneath, so many formats are supported. The difference from online converters is that files are not uploaded to someone else's server and there is no size limit, and from heavy editors it is speed: two clicks instead of launching an application. You can configure preset sets for your common tasks. It runs on Windows only.
