freecut is an open-source video editor that runs entirely in the browser and uploads nothing: your files stay on your disk and processing happens on your machine. Reach for it when you need to put a clip together quickly — trim, join several tracks, add titles, music and images — without installing heavy software, or where installing it is not allowed. Editing is multi-track like a conventional editor: video, audio and captions sit as layers on a timeline. It suits social clips, simple presentation videos and rough cuts. Because everything is computed in the browser, long projects and heavy effects will run into the limits of your machine — feature-length work with colour grading belongs in a desktop editor. In exchange, there is nothing to install and no data leaves the computer.
