Perplexideez is a self-hosted AI search in the spirit of Perplexity: it answers questions by searching the web and citing sources, but runs on your server and with your services. Reach for it when you want a private "search assistant" for yourself or a team: ask questions in plain words and get a summarized answer with links, without depending on someone else's cloud and with multi-user support. It uses a Postgres database, models via Ollama or an OpenAI-compatible endpoint, and web search through your own SearXNG instance. Its focus is a self-hosted search AI-answerer with web search and citations, not enterprise search over internal documents (Onyx for that) or just a chat with a model: the value is privacy, multi-user support, and integration with your own self-hosted services. The author built it because other Perplexity clones lacked these qualities.
