useSend is an open-source email-sending service, a self-hosted replacement for Resend, Sendgrid and Postmark built on Amazon SES. Developers reach for it when an application must reliably send email — signup confirmations, receipts, password resets, notifications — and paying a service by volume or routing their data through it is unwelcome. useSend provides a convenient interface and API over Amazon SES, which costs a pittance per message, so the saving at volume is real. It supports transactional and marketing email and delivery tracking. Deploy it on your own server. The difference from ready cloud services is cost at volume and control over data. It needs an AWS account and SES setup; as with any mailing, good deliverability requires proper domain configuration and a working unsubscribe.
