This n8n workflow automates sending and receiving WhatsApp messages via WAHA (WhatsApp HTTP API), a self-hosted REST wrapper around the WhatsApp client. Use it when you want to automatically reply to inbound WhatsApp messages without the official API, when you need to send customer notifications via WhatsApp triggered from another system, or when you want to connect WhatsApp to a CRM or helpdesk without an expensive BSP licence. WAHA provides a REST API for message handling on your own infrastructure. The workflow imports as a single JSON into n8n and requires a running WAHA instance and its URL after import. Targets customer communication automation via WhatsApp, including welcome messages, order notifications, and FAQ replies. Differs from the official WhatsApp Business API by eliminating per-template fees and BSP intermediaries. Best suited for small businesses needing fast, low-cost WhatsApp automation. Not recommended for bulk marketing blasts — this violates WhatsApp ToS and risks number bans; intended for legitimate business messaging on owned or authorised numbers.
