Musicat — local music player and tagger

★ 941

Musicat is an open-source desktop music player and tag editor for a local music library, built for people who keep music as files rather than relying only on streaming. It plays MP3, FLAC, WAV, AAC and OGG straight from the original folders on disk, watches those folders and rescans them when they change. It supports gapless playback for tracks with the same sample rate, reads and writes ID3v2 and Vorbis tags, builds smart playlists, and fetches album art, artist origin country from Wikipedia and song lyrics. It also has a mini-player, a waveform view, stats and an album timeline, plus a world map that shows where the artists in your library come from. It runs on macOS and Linux, is built with Svelte and Tauri and is licensed under GPL-3.0. The project is in active 0.x development, so features may change between releases.
