OpenShorts is an open-source tool that turns long video into short vertical clips for social media. Reach for it when you have a podcast, webinar, livestream or vlog and need cuts for Shorts, Reels and TikTok: it finds self-contained moments in the recording, reframes them to 9:16 while keeping the speaker in shot, and burns in automatic subtitles. Alongside clipping it can generate short videos from scratch and publish to YouTube. It removes the content manager's main chore — no scrubbing an hour of footage hunting for good moments, no manual reframing, no typing captions. Resulting clips can still be polished in a normal editor. It runs on your own server, so source footage is never uploaded anywhere.
