RVC (Retrieval-based Voice Conversion WebUI) is a voice-conversion tool: it changes the voice in a recording or in real time to another voice trained on samples, through a convenient web interface. Reach for it when you need to convert speech or vocals to a different voice: voice something in your own or a trained voice, create a character voice, or process vocals — by training a model on a small set of examples and applying it to audio. It runs locally. Its focus is voice conversion/cloning, not text-to-speech synthesis (TTS like Bark) or transcription (Whisper): the value is replacing the voice in audio with a chosen one trained on samples. IMPORTANT: this is technology with abuse potential (voice deepfakes) — use it only lawfully and ethically, with the voice owner's consent, not for deception, fraud, or impersonation.
