Speakr is an open-source tool for transcribing recordings and smart note-taking from them that you host yourself. Reach for it when meetings and calls are frequent and each needs not just a transcript but an outcome: a short summary, decisions, tasks. Speakr turns the recording into text with speaker separation and then builds a note from it. You can choose the recognition engine — WhisperX with speaker labelling and voice profiles, or others. Everything runs on your own server and recordings do not go to the cloud, which matters for work meetings. The difference from pure transcription tools is the focus on what to do with the text next: not a transcript for its own sake but ready meeting notes.
