External Claims Verification Against Primary Sources

ai-agents-external-claims is a Claude Code skill that verifies external, vendor, and third-party claims — numbers, attributions, and citation chains — against authoritative primary sources before they land in a repo artifact or external deliverable. It targets three high-risk patterns: round-number tells ("over 1000", "N+ stars"), stat-of-a-stat chain drift, and stake-holding authors such as vendor blogs or founder pitches where the framing is suspect until the origin confirms it. The two-phase process names the exact assertion and its one authoritative source (repository host API, package registry, original paper, or the named party's own published statement), then fetches and compares directly — a claim that rounds 987 up to "over 1000" is inflated, not confirmed. Use it when checking vendor numbers, validating third-party citations, or confirming "per the study" before committing to an ADR, PR description, retrospective, or agent memory.
