alphaxiv is a Claude Code skill that retrieves and summarizes a single research paper using LLM-optimized content from AlphaXiv, with a tiered fallback to raw arXiv sources. It accepts any arXiv ID or URL — including alphaxiv.org, arxiv.org/abs, and arxiv.org/pdf formats — and works through up to three source tiers: a structured overview markdown, the full paper markdown, and the original LaTeX source tarball from arxiv.org/src. Each deeper tier is fetched only when the previous one cannot answer the question, keeping typical "explain this paper" or "summarize this paper" requests fast. An optional research-wiki ingest step is always executed at the end when the directory is present. This skill is intentionally scoped to one paper at a time; use /arxiv or /research-lit for topic discovery and broad literature search.
