altitude-horizon-framework is a Claude Code skill that clarifies the PM-to-Director transition through a two-axis mental model: Altitude (how wide you zoom out) and Horizon (how far ahead you plan). It maps four distinct transition zones — shifting thinking altitude, moving from user personas to market cohorts, recovering from hero syndrome, and creating directional clarity when company strategy is vague — and helps identify which zone is generating the most friction. The Cascading Context Map is included for moments when organizational direction is absent and a Director must translate incomplete strategy into team-level clarity. Best suited for senior PMs preparing for promotion, newly promoted Directors who feel something isn't clicking, or leaders who have inherited multiple teams without a clear mandate.
