APA Reference List Cleanup and DOI Verification

★ 6.5 · general

apa-doi-verifier is a Claude Code skill that validates a reference list against APA 7 formatting rules and confirms each DOI is real using Crossref and PubMed as two independent verification lanes. It splits references into journals, books, chapters, reports, preprints, theses, and web sources, then checks title, authors, year, journal, volume, issue, pages, and DOI for each article. Unresolvable DOIs are explicitly flagged rather than guessed; every verification claim names the lane that confirmed it — Crossref, PubMed, publisher page, or library record. Output includes a cleaned APA 7 reference list, a per-reference status table, DOI corrections, and a fabricated-citation risk classification (low, medium, high, or confirmed fabricated). Use it before manuscript submission, dissertation defense, or any audit of AI-generated citations.
