Architectural Decision Stress-Testing
★ 7.4 · vibe-coding
decision-critic is a Claude Code skill that systematically stress-tests reasoning before commitment, surfacing hidden assumptions, verifying claims, and generating adversarial perspectives to improve decision quality. The process runs across 7 steps: decompose the decision into claims, assumptions, constraints, and judgments with stable IDs (C1, A1, K1, J1); independently verify each element and mark it VERIFIED, FAILED, or UNCERTAIN; apply contrarian framing and inversion analysis covering at least three failure modes; then deliver a verdict of STAND, REVISE, or ESCALATE. The bundled decision-critic.py script is called once per step, carrying accumulated analysis forward via --thoughts. Use it before finalizing ADRs, architectural tradeoffs, or hard-to-reverse refactors—not as a substitute for pre-mortem when assessing launch risks or chestertons-fence when probing why a constraint exists.
