Game mod video recording and editing

★ 7.3 · general

Using a command-line toolchain built on ffmpeg and Pillow, Showcase Video records a game window in Claude Code, picks the best moments, and compiles a finished video ready to post on X or YouTube. Reach for it when you need a short mod trailer or demo clip, want to cut a montage from several recordings, need to add animated titles and music before posting, or want to show off a new mechanic without touching a GUI editor. The workflow has three stages: `um win record` captures the game window via ffmpeg gfxcapture with only the game's own audio (WASAPI process loopback, no background apps), `um video contact` generates a timestamped contact sheet for picking in/out points, and `um video compile` assembles the final video from an EDL JSON — with one-line animated titles, xfade transitions (fade, pixelize, slideleft, and other ffmpeg xfade types), music bed, watermark, and fade-out. Per-clip controls include speed, zoom, crop, and background fill (blur/crop/pad); cuts can be aligned to BPM beats. The skill produces output video rather than editing pre-rendered footage in an external timeline. It runs on Windows with NVENC, AMF, or QSV encoding and requires ffmpeg and Pillow; macOS and Linux are not covered.
