Socratic design clarification before coding

★ 6.7 · vibe-coding

socratic-design is a Claude Code skill that gates any plan or implementation behind a structured requirement-resolution process, preventing premature coding when scope, constraints, or tradeoffs remain unresolved. Each turn surfaces exactly one atomic, consequential, falsifiable question via the `ask` tool — accompanied by a recommended answer, reasoning, and a description of how the path changes if the opposite answer is given. Questions follow a strict sequence: Outcome → Scope → Constraints → Facts → Invariants → Options → Tradeoffs → Decision → Validation → Exec Gate, with no child question allowed while a parent remains open. Once all critical dependencies are closed, the skill produces a shared understanding summary, a resolved decision tree, open risks with owners, and a plan skeleton. It is especially useful at the start of architecture, design, or refactoring work where requirements are still ambiguous.
