Spec-driven development workflow
★ 7.4 · vibe-coding
spec-driven-dev is a Claude Code skill that creates, reviews, and manages specification documents before any code is written. It guides work through a seven-stage workflow — Discuss → Create → Review → Approve → Implement → Verify → Archive — ensuring requirements are agreed upon before implementation begins. Each spec gets a unique identifier (SPEC-NNN or kebab-case), documents requirements using SHALL/MUST language, and structures acceptance criteria in Given/When/Then scenarios with an accompanying test plan. The skill uses Read, Write, Grep, Glob, and Git tools, auto-discovers existing specs in specs/ and docs/specs/ directories, and supports delta sections for modifying already-approved documents. It suits teams building new features, architectural changes, or breaking changes where aligning on system behaviour upfront reduces rework.
