Folio is an open-source Go library for creating PDFs from code and from HTML, with its own layout engine, forms, digital signatures, barcodes and PDF/A. Reach for it when invoices, reports or contracts must be generated straight from Go with no external service, when an HTML template should become a PDF without a headless browser, when documents need QR codes, barcodes, signatures or interactive forms, or when Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi or CJK text must render correctly. Inside is a plan-based layout engine (paragraphs, tables with colspan and rowspan, flexbox, columns, floats, lists), an HTML converter for 40+ elements with CSS grid, SVG and @page, Code128, QR and EAN-13 barcodes, text shaping for RTL, Indic and CJK scripts, redaction and page import. Add it with go get github.com/Folio; it needs Go 1.25+, has three dependencies, all from golang.org/x, and runs in-process. A Java SDK and a browser WASM playground are available. Not all CSS is supported, the known gaps are listed in docs/CSS_SUPPORT.md; it is a library, not a visual editor. Apache-2.0 license.
