VibeTunnel — browser-based terminal access

★ 4.6K

VibeTunnel is an open-source tool that turns any browser into a full terminal, letting you monitor and control running processes and AI agents remotely. Reach for it when a long build or agent run is going on your workstation and you need to check in from your phone; when a coding agent has been running for hours and you need to intervene without getting back to your desk; when you need machine access from someone else's device where installing an SSH client isn't an option; or when sharing a terminal session with a teammate without SSH setup overhead. Written in TypeScript, it requires Node.js 22.12–24.x. On macOS it installs as a native menu-bar app (Apple Silicon only, macOS 14.0+) via Homebrew or direct download; on Linux and headless systems it runs via npm install -g vibetunnel. The vt wrapper command forwards any process output to the browser, and sessions survive tab closes. Includes Git Follow Mode, session title management, and built-in authentication. The direction is outbound — exposing a local terminal to a browser client, not tunneling inbound to a server. Use only on systems you own or are authorized to access, and never expose the server to the public internet without access controls and an encrypted channel. Windows is not yet supported.
