Chrome Browser Automation via Claude Code

★ 7.0 · web-development

Manage Chrome from Claude is a Claude Code skill that automates actions in the user's real Chrome browser via the Claude in Chrome extension: opening tabs, clicking, filling forms, taking screenshots and GIF recordings, reading console output and network requests — all within the user's own sign-ins and active sessions. Reach for it when you need to automate repetitive tasks on sites that require your personal account, when you want to record a step-by-step interaction with a form or UI for review or sharing, or when you need to debug a web app through its console during an automated flow. The skill describes how to load tools in a single ToolSearch call, check open tabs before starting, work in new tabs, capture smooth GIFs with frames before and after each action, filter console output by regex pattern, handle modal dialog risks, and stop gracefully on repeated failures. It runs only while the Claude in Chrome extension is connected to Chrome; compatible with Claude Code, Cowork (desktop and remote), and claude.ai sessions upgraded to Cowork Remote. This skill targets the user's real browser with their existing sessions, not the isolated built-in browser — a separate skill covers mcp__Claude_Browser__* tools. Not applicable when the extension is disconnected or Chrome is not running; the skill does not decide which browser to use — that is determined at the session level.
