Chrome DevTools MCP — browser control and debugging for agents
★ 8.0 · web-development
Chrome DevTools MCP is an MCP server for Claude Code that lets an AI agent control and inspect a live Chrome browser through DevTools. The agent can record performance traces and extract insights, analyze network requests, take screenshots, read console messages with source-mapped stack traces, and act on the page through Puppeteer. Use it to check how fast a website is, find the cause of a console error, or debug requests and layout. To install, add the npx command with the arguments -y and chrome-devtools-mcp@latest to your MCP client config. You need Node.js LTS, npm and a current Chrome. A lighter --slim mode covers basic tasks. The server exposes browser content to the agent, so keep personal data out of that browser. Google collects usage statistics by default (opt out with a flag), and performance tools may send URLs to the CrUX API.
