Writing style and author voice checker
★ 7.7 · documentation
tone-check is a Claude Code skill that audits a document for AI-generated writing markers and mismatches with the user's personal voice. The two-pass analysis first scans for markers across five categories — filler and hedge phrases ("leverage", "utilize", "comprehensive"), formulaic structural patterns, over-qualification, summarization tells, and corporate emotional flatness — then compares the document's tone against actual user messages collected from ~/.claude/projects and ~/.codex/sessions over the past 30 days. It accepts a file path plus optional --strict and --samples N flags, and runs via Read, Bash, Glob, and Grep. The final report scores AI signal strength (0–10) and voice match (0–10), and pairs every flagged passage with a concrete rewrite suggestion tailored to the document type. Ideal for anyone who needs to verify that edited or AI-assisted drafts still read in their own voice.
