Anytype is a local-first, end-to-end encrypted alternative to Notion: a personal workspace for notes, documents, tasks, and databases where you own your data. Reach for it when you want a knowledge base and organizer like Notion but with privacy: data is stored locally and encrypted, works offline, and syncs without a mandatory external cloud. Everything is built from typed "objects" with relations, and there are graphs, collections, and sets; this is the desktop client (this repo is the TypeScript app), and there are mobile ones too. Its focus is a private, local-first all-in-one knowledge space with encryption, not a cloud service or just a note editor: the value is control over data, offline use, and end-to-end encryption with a flexible object model. In job it sits alongside AppFlowy and Trilium, with the emphasis on local storage, encryption, and an object model.
