Kerberos Agent — video surveillance agent

★ 1.1K

Kerberos Agent is an open-source video surveillance agent under the MIT license: it takes the stream of one camera, records it on motion or continuously, and shows the recordings in a web interface. Reach for it when you want to run video surveillance on your own hardware, when you want to hook an IP camera to a simple web UI without buying a commercial recorder, or when you want to scale by running one instance per camera. Under the hood: Go and React; ingest of RTSP streams in H264 or H265; audio (AAC) and video recording into MP4; conditional recording (motion regions, time table, offline mode); low-resolution streaming over MQTT and high-resolution over WebRTC (H264 only); and end-to-end encryption of MQTT traffic with RSA and AES. USB and Raspberry Pi cameras connect through a separate RTSP proxy. It runs on ARMv6, ARMv7, ARM64 and AMD64: Raspberry Pi, Nvidia Jetson, Intel NUC, VMs and Kubernetes. Start it with Docker (`docker run -p 80:80 kerberos/agent:latest`), Snap or Balena; configure through environment variables or a mounted volume. Not a fit if the camera cannot be turned into an H264 or H265 RTSP stream.
