Flow is an open-source YouTube and YouTube Music client for Android featuring an on-device recommendation engine called FlowNeuro, built entirely in Kotlin with Jetpack Compose and Material 3. Reach for it when you want to watch videos and listen to music without ads or a Google account, when you need background playback with the screen off, when you don't want your watch history and taste data sent to external servers, or when the official app tracks more than you're comfortable with. FlowNeuro runs fully on-device — it learns from what you watch, skip, search for, and how long you engage, building a personalized feed with no server calls to the developer. Playback is handled by ExoPlayer (Media3) with resolution switching up to 1080p; SponsorBlock, DeArrow, and Return YouTube Dislike are built in. Downloads support VP9, AV1, and standard formats; Picture-in-Picture, Smart TV casting, synchronized lyrics, queue management, and 11 color themes are all included. Subscriptions and history can be imported from NewPipe. The direction is ad-free, account-free YouTube consumption — not video archiving as a primary goal. Requires Android 8.0 or later, distributed as an APK under GPL v3. Functionality depends on how YouTube exposes its data; platform-side changes may require an app update to restore access.
