Episteme Reader — читалка книг и документов
★ 1.2K
Episteme Reader is an open-source document and e-book reader for Android and desktop (Linux, Windows), built with Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform. Reach for it when your reading library lives in local files rather than a subscription store, when you need a reader that works without an account or cloud upload, or when you want one app to handle PDF, EPUB, MOBI, DOCX, comic archives, and Markdown. Supported formats include PDF, EPUB, MOBI/AZW3, FB2, DOCX, ODT, TXT, Markdown, HTML, and comic archives. Reading modes cover paginated view, vertical scroll, auto-scroll, musician mode, PDF multi-tab, and PDF reflow. PDF ink annotations, highlighting, and text notes are built in, alongside local folder sync, bookmarks, progress tracking, custom fonts, typography controls, and app themes. Available in several editions: OSS (F-Droid, GitHub, Obtainium), OSS Offline (network permissions removed), Play Store (adds ML Kit OCR, cloud sync, AI tools, cloud TTS), and Standard/Offline desktop builds. The focus is reading files stored locally, not streaming from bookstores — unlike cloud-tied readers. Well suited for privacy-conscious and offline-first use; not intended as a full metadata library manager with remote collection sync.
