Magic Cloud — full-stack apps from plain text

★ 1.2K

Magic (Magic Cloud) is an open-source platform under the MIT license that turns a plain-language description into a working full-stack application, including the database, a secured REST API, business logic and a frontend, running on your own hardware. Reach for it when you need to wrap an existing MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server or MariaDB database in a secured CRUD API within minutes; when you want a CRM, an admin panel or an embeddable chatbot grounded in your website content without hand-written boilerplate; or when you want to give Claude, Cursor or Codex your own endpoints as tools through an MCP server. Inside is the Hyperlambda language, generated as an AST so that functions that do not exist are rejected at analysis time, a sandbox that whitelists individual functions through role-based access, and a web dashboard with Hyper IDE, SQL Studio, an endpoint generator, Web Designer and a task scheduler, plus import of third-party APIs from OpenAPI or Swagger specs. Start with curl -fsSL https://hyperlambda.dev/docker-compose.yaml | docker compose -f - up, then open localhost:5555. What sets it apart is that the backend with authentication, roles and background jobs is included, unlike frontend-only builders such as Lovable or Bolt and unlike workflow-only tools such as n8n or Make. A good fit for teams that want a self-hosted result without vendor lock-in and can run Docker. The speed and token-saving figures are the authors' own measurements.
