PasteGuard — privacy proxy for AI
★ 757
PasteGuard is an open-source local proxy that masks personal data and secrets before a request reaches ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, your API provider, Codex or Claude Code. Reach for it when raw client records, logs, configs and keys cannot go to a model, when hand-redacting before pasting into a chat has become a chore, when a regulated workflow needs a control point in front of AI, or when a coding agent such as Claude Code pulls stack traces with real secrets into its context. Start it with one Docker command (ghcr.io/PasteGuard), open the dashboard at localhost:3000, and point your app or agent at it by changing the base URL; endpoints exist for OpenAI, Anthropic and Codex CLI, and an experimental browser extension covers web chats. Mask Mode swaps in placeholders and restores originals in the response; Route Mode sends requests containing sensitive data to a local model (Ollama, vLLM, llama.cpp) while clean ones go to the cloud. It detects names, locations, emails, phones, cards, IBANs, IPs, VAT numbers, API keys, SSH and PEM keys, JWTs, passwords and connection strings, including in streaming, and uses GLiNER for semantics. Originals stay with you; the provider sees placeholders. It does not replace a legal or compliance program. Apache-2.0 license.
