StoryGen-Atelier is an open-source tool that automatically generates storyboards and stitches them into a final video using Google Gemini and Vertex AI Veo. Reach for it when you want to turn a text idea into a short video story without manual editing, need to prototype an animated storyboard from a script in minutes, or want to automate transition clip generation between scenes. The pipeline has three stages: a Gemini text model writes the script and style, a Gemini image model renders storyboard frames, then a sliding-window algorithm has Gemini analyze each adjacent frame pair and produce a transition prompt, Vertex AI Veo (veo-3.1) generates the connecting clips, and ffmpeg stream-copies everything into a lossless full_story.mp4. Stack: Node.js 18+ / Express backend, React + Vite + Mantine UI frontend, SQLite for logs and gallery. MiniMax (M3 / image-01 / MiniMax-H3 2K) is supported as an optional provider for text, image, and video steps. Runs locally via a shell script or manual npm start; requires a Gemini API Key, a Google Cloud Project with Vertex AI API enabled, and ffmpeg installed. The tool generates video from text and images — it does not transcribe or analyze existing footage. Works well for content creators and developers building storytelling videos locally; not suitable without access to Vertex AI or Gemini API.
